The CAS-Envision antigen rapid test kit uses colloidal gold immunophotography to qualitatively detect the nucleocapsid antigen in human nasopharyngeal oropharyngeal swab samples. The test provides preliminary test results but cannot be used as the sole basis for disease treatment or other health management decisions. Positive results indicate the presence of viral antigens, but bacterial infection or co-infection with other viruses is not excluded. A negative result does not exclude infection, and healthcare providers should consider the patient's recent exposure, medical history, and clinical signs or symptoms consistent, and, if necessary, confirm the diagnosis by molecular testing.
